We exist to advance understanding of orthopaedic science. We do this by funding important research, publishing that research and collaborating with multidisciplinary centres of excellence.
Our reach is wide. Some of our funded research broadens general scientific knowledge whilst other projects target specific disorders. Where appropriate, we support work into controversial areas.
We fund research at different levels. Over the years we have built firm links with research institutions which drive innovative thinking in our field. Since 2004 we have supported 135 research projects, which amounts to more than £9.5 million.
