RAEng/Orthopaedic Research UK Research Fellowship

The 2020/21 round is now open for applications until 4pm on 21 September 2020

Are you an early career researcher looking to elevate your research? Our joint Research Fellowship with the Royal Academy of Engineering can support you to become a future musculoskeletal research leader by providing funding, long-term access to a mentor and more.

The RAEng/Orthopaedic Research UK Research Fellowship was created to fund outstanding early-career researchers to support them to become future research leaders in musculoskeletal research. The scheme’s objectives are to:

  1. Support the best early-career researchers in establishing their independence and international reputation
  2. Provide long-term support enabling the pursuit of an ambitious programme of musculoskeletal research and impact
  3. Develop ambassadors for both Orthopaedic Research UK and the RAEng and advocates for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines

We welcome applications from early-career researchers who have been awarded their PhD in the last four years. The scheme provides funding for five years. Each application is capped at a maximum contribution from the Academy of £500,000 over the five-year period, at 80% of full economic costs. In addition, Research Fellowships must be held at a UK higher education institution/university.
