David Martin was born in Woking in 1949, attended Cranleigh School and subsequently attended Trinity College Dublin and was awarded an MA in Business Studies.
He commenced studying to be a Chartered Accountant, completed 2 years and then was needed in the family business (4th Generation). Through that business he has been involved in international shipping, European road transport and latterly building and running warehouses. His son is now running the business and David has turned his attention to property development.
In 1994, David had a JRI hip, put in by Mr Ronald Furlong, the inventor of the cementless hip and the founder of Orthopaedic Research UK.
David has been a trustee of the charity since 2005.
