Mr Kar Teoh is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in foot & ankle surgery and trauma. He did his higher surgical training in the Wales Deanery after completing his medical school and academic foundation programme in Edinburgh. His advanced foot and ankle training was in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr with Kartik Hariharan and Hiro Tanaka.
In his bid to obtain a more international flavour to his training, he has done further fellowships in Switzerland, Germany and United States of America. His trauma training has been enhanced by time spent in four international AO centres of excellence. He has been awarded numerous prestigious international fellowships from many organisations (BOA, EFORT, SICOT, AO, BOFAS, EFAS, IBRA).
Over the years, he has developed an interest in research, undergraduate and postgraduate education. He has also won numerous research awards and published widely. He is a faculty on local and international courses. He has also been elected as a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers by Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He is keen to accelerate service transformation and quality improvement within and across trauma and orthopaedic services and was a fellow on the BOA Clinical Leaders Programme 2017/18. He has a Chartered Management Institute Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management.
