Paediatric orthopaedic FRCS (Orth) revision course | 19 — 20 January 2024

Overview

This two day paediatric orthopaedic revision course is designed for candidates taking the FRCS (Orth) examination, section 2 (vivas and clinicals) and is entirely hands-on/interactive.

The first day consists of vivas and spotter sessions involving spot diagnoses made on clinical images and radiographs; the second day is devoted to taking histories and examining paediatric patients. There are plenty of opportunities to test your paediatric orthopaedic knowledge, practise your exam technique, and clarify issues with an experienced faculty.

Mr M D Latimer BA (hons) MBBChir MA MEng MRCS (Eng) MRCS (Ed) FRCS (T&O)

Mr Latimer works as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Addenbrookes Hospital and as an Hononorary Consultant at Peterborough and Broomfield Hospitals. He has a specialist interest in children’s orthopaedics, adult lower limb surgery and trauma surgery.

Before studying medicine he graduated from Oxford University with a Master’s degree in Engineering Economics and Management. He studied Pre-Clinical Medicine at Oxford and Clinical Medicine at Cambridge. He joined the East Anglian Orthopaedic Rotation in 2002.

He passed his FRCS (T&O) exams in 2007 and was selected for the prestigious Ingham Fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery in Sydney.

Mr Latimer has published academic papers in numerous fields including cardiology, anaesthesia, plastic surgery, neurosurgery and of course orthopaedics!
