This course is designed to impart the knowledge and skills required to pass the hand surgery section of the FRCS (Orth) exam. This will include a comprehensive lecture programme covering the core components and key topics of the exam. Mock clinical examination stations with invited patients will provide an opportunity to refine examination skills under the guidance of experienced hand surgeons. The viva component will simulate exam conditions for the delegates, with the opportunity for feedback and tailored teaching.

Park End Street venue is located adjacent to the train station. There is a direct mainline service between Oxford, London and Birmingham. From Heathrow Airport there is a fast train link to London Paddington which connects directly with services to Oxford.

Nicholas Riley is a consultant hand and wrist surgeon based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. He has a diverse tertiary referral hand and wrist surgery practice with an interest in complex fracture treatment, scaphoid fracture and non-union, hand infection and the management of hand and wrist arthritis. Nick qualified from St Barts and the Royal London and undertook his early post-graduate training in London and at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, before completing his orthopaedic training in Oxford. He was subsequently awarded the Oxford hand surgery fellowship and the prestigious American Society of Hand Surgery Travelling Fellowship resulting in visiting fellowships at the Mayo Clinic and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Nick is a keen educator who is comfortable lecturing to large audiences and educating smaller groups, he is a member of the Oxford University Medical Education Fellows group and is the founder of the Oxford Hand Surgery Training Centre.
