Organised jointly by Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and Orthopaedic Research UK.

This event aims to bring together stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds to share experience and ideas with the common purpose of improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients with biofilm infection. A faculty of orthopaedic surgeons, clinical and experimental microbiologists will be talking about the latest research in this area. There will be interesting discussions around the latest molecular techniques in diagnosis and research, bioinformatics and clinical experience as well as clinical aspects of diagnosing and managing infection and the National Joint Infection Registry.

Objectives:

  • Bring together a wide variety of opinion leaders in the field of orthopaedic implant infection

  • Provide a broad introduction to the field for new researchers

  • Encourage inter-disciplinary debate and collaboration

  • Review the latest research in this area

  • Receive an update on the joint infection registry
