Metal-on-metal hip replacements: solving the uncertainties

Wednesday, 14th December 2011
The Royal College of Surgeons of England, 14th December 2011

This meeting was arranged to discuss pertinent issues which surround the use of metal-on-metal hip replacements. The UK is currently at the forefront of discussing and understanding these issues worldwide.

The aim of the meeting was to inform surgeons about problems related to the management of patients with MoM hips and to understand engineering and biological lessons from the clinical issues that have arisen surrounding these implants.

As the fourth meeting of its type in as many months we were delighted that we did not have one available delegate place and it is certainly a meeting we will consider running again in the near future. Thanks must go to the convenors of the conference, Professors Gordon Blunn, Julia Shelton and Mr Alister Hart.

Footage from the conference will be available on our website shortly so please do visit for regular updates.
